Support for adding Alt Text in widget photos | WCAG 2.0 & Section 508 Compliance

  • To ensure we are in compliance with users requiring accessibility (WCAG 2.0 & Section 508), our site must have alt text for photos. The images in our Media folder have alt text but when they are sourced into the widgets (e.g. Clients) the alt text doesn’t follow. How can this be implemented? Thanks for your time!

    The requirement:

Each A element must contain text or an IMG with an ALT attribute.

    Hello,

We haven’t optimized Integral for accessibility yet but we will be doing this shortly.

In the meantime you can use a plugin like,

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/automatic-image-alt-attributes/

Or you can edit the Clients Widget file located in the /inc folder entitled our_clients_widget.php

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I tried the plugin route since it seemed the easiest, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Changing the widget’s .php solved my problem, thank you for the guidance!

    You’re welcome :)
