Archive/dead links 404 errors

  • Hi.

I just purchased an analysis product fra one.com called MarketGoo. They did an analysis of our website. They found 89 pages where there was a lot of dead links/404 errors, and many was Archive Pages.

Now, I have only created 30 Pages, and 14 Posts. How come the theme produce additional 45 Pages with dead links etc.? And how can I remove these Pages, which I have no idea where to find as I haven´t created them? Here is an example of one of the Archives that shows up in the analysis – https://prnt.sc/nngc34. It goes nowhere as you can see here – Teamleder Archives – Hele Danmarks outsourcing partner for Fast Ejendom
    /tag/teamleder/.

All this means that Google and other search engines can´t index our website, which means we end up at the bottom, but you probably know this…

    Hello Julie,

All WordPress websites have this. WordPress creates category and archive pages by default.

It does not mean Google will not index your site. Not at all.

If you don’t want Google to index those pages then you need to use an SEO plugin like Yoast SEO or All-in-one SEO Pack

    Yoast SEO

    All in One SEO Pack

Here is a list of 9 popular SEO plugins.

Please don’t confuse default WordPress functionality with what themes provide.

I hope that answers your questions.

Thanks Hans! I will do something with that. Best, Julie

    Sounds good, you’re welcome.
