Broken Navigation Menu

  • Hi,

unless I’m missing something, I think the links in the top navigation break when you’re using a single page layout and link to a sub page, e.g. containing more details about services. Best example is actually in the theme demo page: http://demo.themely.com/integral/shop/ Once you access that link and you try to click on e.g. ‘About’ you just get a link to http://demo.themely.com/integral/shop/#about but it can’t find the anchor point about because that only lives on the home page. I tried to trick it by linking it to /#about in the menu but as a result, on the home page, About also appears active along with Home (has the blue bar and CSS class active). Not what I was hoping for.

Is there a work around to this? Any help is appreciated.

    Hello klaus,

We are currently working on an update which we should be ready to release tomorrow (Monday) or the day after.

This will allow you to go to anchors on the home page from secondary pages, and also highlight the homepage anchors when you select them.

Once we release the update you will be able to download it from your Customer Dashboard.

I will inform you once it is released.

I hope that answers your question.

    Awesome. Looking forward to it

Has this been fixed yet. You are talking about an update in wordpress, correct? I am still having the same issue.

    Hello David and Klaus,

We will be releasing an update this afternoon.

A quick solution is to use absolute URL’s in the anchor links for the home page.

    Example:

    http://www.website.com/#about

This will work when you are on other pages besides the front page.

However, there could be an issue with menu items appearing active (underlined).

In the release this afternoon those styling issues will be addressed.

We have just released version 1.2.4 of Integral Pro.

You can log into your Customer Dashboard and download the new version.

I’m a little late here, but Thank you for fixing this!

    You’re welcome!

The menus with sub-items don’t work for me. As soon as I add a sub-item to a menu, the top-level link stops working. Using Integral Pro, with latest WordPress version. It doesn’t work even though I have defined a custom link to [site URL]/#services (it works if I remove the sub-item)

    @ervit

Yes that is correct. The purpose of this is so that it will work on mobile devices. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to toggle open the sub-menu without it taking you to the parent page.

So parent menu’s are always dead links.

See our demo as an example, http://demo.themely.com/integral/

I hope that answers your question.
