Site is working great so far, i am working on the optimization now.
Google search console offers me a download with optimized css and JS files. Do you have experience with updating these?

Yes I know of them but I have never used it.
I usually use W3C Total Cache plugin, https://wordpress.org/plugins/w3-total-cache/
To optimize the website for speed (compression, caching, etc).
I would suggest you start with that.
